NYU Hospital campus hearth sends thick, black smoke billowing over Manhattan


MANHATTAN, NY —

A fireplace broke out on the roof of a constructing in Manhattan Wednesday, sending thick, black smoke into the air above the New York Metropolis skyline.

The hearth started on a sub-roof situated on the fifth flooring of a brand new constructing on NYU Langone Medical Middle’s campus.

The constructing is the Kimmel Pavilion, which is beneath development. The pavilion is predicted to open in 2018, with development starting in 2013.
