Southwestern School on lockdown after attainable gunman noticed


Southwestern School was positioned on lockdown Monday afternoon after a male with a gun was seen operating towards the Chula Vista campus, police stated.

The male was first noticed by faculty officers at Bonita Vista Excessive Faculty on Otay Lakes Street round 12:30 p.m., Chula Vista police Lt. Miriam Byron stated. He was then seen operating with the handgun towards the close by school.

Police knowledgeable the school of the potential menace and faculty officers locked the campus down. The male has not been situated. It’s unclear if he was a scholar at the highschool, Byron stated.

Summer time faculty is in session at the highschool, police stated. Courses ended across the time the male was reported.

Officers are within the space investigating the incident.
