NEWPORT BEACH, Calif. (AP) — A Southern California lady who allegedly deserted a canine with a forty two-pound cancerous tumor has been charged with life-threatening animal abuse and neglect.

Sherri Haughton of Newport Coast was charged Wednesday with 4 misdemeanors that carry a possible two-yr jail sentence.
