3 found alive inside West Virginia coal mine

Three individuals lacking since last weekend have been found alive Wednesday in a nonoperational coal mine in West Virginia, authorities stated.

The three have been situated Wednesday inside Elk Run Coal’s Rock Home Powellton mine close to Clear Creek, the state Workplace of Miners’ Well being, Safety and Coaching stated in a press release.

The statement did not indicate their circumstances. It stated crews have been working to deliver them to the floor for transportation to a hospital.

The Raleigh County Sheriff’s Office had recognized them as Kayla Williams, 25, of Artie; Erica Treadway, 31, of Pax; and Cody Beverly, 21, of Dorothy. They’d been lacking since Saturday. An abandoned ATV the 4 have been believed to be driving was discovered close to the mine entrance.

On Monday night time, forty three-yr-previous Eddie Williams of Artie walked out of the mine.
