Anti-Semitic acts hit France amid anti-government protests

Portraits of a Holocaust survivor tagged with swastikas. A memorial in honor of a Jewish man vandalized. A bagel store with the German word “Juden” sprayed on its entrance window.

These are just some of the a whole lot of anti-Semitic acts which were dedicated in France, which is residence to Europe’s largest Jewish population, in current months.

In line with French authorities, the entire of registered anti-Semitic acts rose to 541 in 2018 from 311 in 2017, a rise of 78 %.

A judicial official informed The Associated Press on Tuesday that 4 investigations have been opened by Paris prosecutor after the newest incidents in the French capital last weekend. The individual was not approved to be publicly named because the investigations are ongoing.
