Ford is recalling almost 1.5 million pickup vans in North America as a result of the transmissions can abruptly downshift into first gear.

The recall covers F-one hundred fifty vans from the 2011 by way of 2013 model years with six-velocity automated transmissions.

The corporate says a glitch in sending a signal from the transmission velocity sensor is the cause. Ford has 5 stories of accidents including one that brought about a whiplash damage from a sudden downshift.

House owners might be notified by letter starting March four. Sellers will replace the powertrain control software program to repair the problem.

Ford’s F-Collection pickup is the highest-selling car in the USA.
