Lawmaker arrested for child cruelty says he spanked daughter

A California lawmaker arrested on suspicion of kid cruelty says he spanked his 7-yr-previous daughter.

The Fresno Bee stories Democratic Assemblyman Joaquin Arambula described what occurred Wednesday and stated he has no plans to resign.

Arambula was arrested on misdemeanor suspicion of willful cruelty to a toddler Monday after officers at an area elementary faculty reported an injured baby. He was launched and has not been formally charged.

Arambula says he spanked his daughter Sunday to self-discipline her after she acted out. He says spanking is a final resort of punishment that he not often makes use of.

He says his daughter was indignant when she obtained to high school and advised a instructor.

Arambula says the varsity, police and baby protecting providers appropriately did their jobs.
