BOSTON — A Brazilian man has pleaded guilty to installing debit and bank card skimming units on ATMs in several Boston-area communities.
Federal prosecutors say forty three-yr-previous Alexandre Kawamura pleaded guilty Monday to utilizing counterfeit access units, possessing system-making gear, and aggravated id theft.
Prosecutors say he positioned skimming units and pinhole cameras in financial institution ATMs in Saugus, Stoneham, Medford and Everett in February and March last yr. The skimming units recorded checking account info whereas the cameras captured PINs entered on ATM keypads.
