Off-duty Oakland police officer stabbed while walking to car after shift


OAKLAND, Calif. (KGO) — An Oakland police officer underwent surgical procedure after being stabbed on Thursday night time.

The assault occurred at Jefferson and sixth streets.

The officer had just completed his shift on the Oakland Police Department and walked a block east towards his automotive when he was stabbed.

He was dressed in plain clothes and never in uniform. He was about to enter the parking zone for officers when the suspect out of the blue came up to him and stabbed him a number of occasions.
