Furry associates, notably ones that go to dog parks and keep at doggy day cares, can contract the viral infection, too.

The first pressure of canine influenza, H3N8, was detected in 2004, in response to the Facilities for Disease Control and Prevention. A second pressure, H3N2, was detected in 2015.
