A Texas man died Monday within the Arkansas River just days after state officers issued excessive water warning across the state.
Sameer Prasla, forty two, was rafting with the Rocky Mountain High Adventure Base when he was thrown from his raft in Fremont County west of the Royal Gorge Bridge and Park, based on the Fremont County Sheriff’s Workplace. Prasla was in Colorado with a Boy Scouts of America group.
Prasla was sporting a life jacket and a helmet while out on the water, the sheriff’s office stated.
That is the state’s second river rafting-related demise this yr. Officers say high water can create harmful circumstances in the rivers. Several rafting corporations at the moment are avoiding three sections of the Arkansas River due to the excessive water.
