UK leader seeks EU lifeline after surviving confidence vote

British Prime Minister Theresa Might is in search of a lifeline from European Union leaders after profitable a no-confidence vote triggered by Conservative lawmakers sad together with her Brexit plan.

Might will ask the 27 different EU leaders at a Brussels summit Thursday for reassurances concerning the Brexit divorce deal that she will use to win over a skeptical British Parliament. The British leader scrapped a deliberate vote on the deal this week when it turned clear she would lose.

The bloc is adamant there might be no substantive modifications to the legally-binding withdrawal settlement.

On Wednesday night, Might survived a vote on her leadership from Conservative lawmakers by 200-117. The victory provides her a reprieve from domestic strain but the measurement of the rebel underscores the unpopularity of her Brexit plan.
